Unknown Contamination
I heard a story of a village where there was an outbreak of horrible sickness. After many deaths, a research team was asked to discover the source of the sickness. It was determined that the river, which was the source of water to the village, had somehow, become contaminated. The research team began a mission upstream to discover the source of the problem. They discovered that a mother pig and her babies had slipped into the river and drowned. The carcasses were stuck, causing all the water flowing past that point to be contaminated. As soon as they removed the animals, the water was clear of disease and the health of the village restored.
Sometimes our lives are contaminated by things that SLIP in. Maybe we watch the wrong thing or listen to the wrong thing. Maybe we can’t really identify the source. We just know our lives are not healthy.
The Lord wants to send the head of his research team to discover the source of our sickness. He wants to send the Holy Spirit to search our heart, find the source of our problem, and remove it from our life. The Lord wants to restore health to us in our body, soul and spirit.
