Irrevocable Choices
Our lives are filled with constant choices. Some choices are simple. What outfit will I wear today? What will I cook for dinner?
Some choices require more though. Should I really go into debt for that house or will a smaller home do for now? What doctor will I use? Into which church will I invest my time and talents? Should I purchase a Volvo or will a Ford do for now? All of these choices are big, but, you can always sell the house or the Volvo and you only need look around and discover there are hundreds of churches.
There are choices that I call, IRREVOCABLE. Choices that forever will influence and effect our lives. Some people pull the trigger of a gun. Some people get behind the wheel of an automobile under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Of course they never meant to harm anyone or kill anyone. But, they made an irrevocable choice.
I heard of a young couple. They dated since they were sixteen. They had both kept themselves pure for their wedding night. They were getting married, and the night before the wedding got into a horrible fight. The young man, in his anger, went out, found a prostitute and had sex. He was remorseful, he repented, and was married the next day. Sounds great! Months later he realizes that something is wrong. After examination, he is told that he has Aids. After being tested, his new wife also discovers that she too has this horrible disease. How could this happen? They are Christians! He made an irrevocable choice. It only took one bad choice. It only took one night. It only took one moment.
Maybe you relate to some of the above. Today the Lord wants you to know, whatever irrevocable decision you made, he is waiting to welcome you back to the safety of covenant with him. Make a strong, solid, good choice to put your life and future into the hands of the Lord today. You might say, that would be the best irrevocable decision you will ever make.
