HEALING, PART 2

by Don Dowda

Scriptures: Matthew 4:23, John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Luke 17:6, Romans 10:17, Romans 12:3, 1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 26:26, John 4:24, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Matthew 18:20

The last time I spoke here at the Church, I spoke about healing. This is why I titled this message "HEALING PART 2." I gave my testimony of how God healed me as a child of paralyses in my leg and I spoke about how Jesus brought healing when he came. Today I want to talk about your healing.

I have good news! God wants to heal you!

Before we go any further there are a couple of lies that I feel like we need to deal with.

Lie # 1: God doesn't love me.

A lot of people have believed the lie of the devil saying God doesn't love them. They say "He loves others, but not me". "I have been too bad. God couldn't love me." "I'm not good enough."

The 1st thing we need to establish is God does love you, so let's settle that right here.

Jesus knew about your sin when he went to the cross, but he went to the cross anyway. Jesus is the very expression of God's love for you. As Pastor Delbert is teaching how Jesus doing everything he needed to do to get to the cross on the appointed time, he did it for you. His whole life revolved around getting to his cross. He knew what the cost was, but he was willing to go for you.

When Jesus was here on earth in his earthly body, he went around healing people every place he went. He didn't ask them if they were good people, or if they had ever sinned. He just healed them. He didn't take their name and go home and Google them, or get on Facebook to see if they had ever said a bad word, or maybe had some bad friends. He just healed them because he loved them.

Matthew 4:23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people

When he fed the multitudes, he didn't ask any questions. He just loved them all and wanted them to be fed.

God, by his Spirit, gave us his expression of his love in the bible. He also gave his expression of Love through his Son Jesus. Jesus is the "Word of God". Words express things. They have meaning. This is why Jesus is called the "Word of God." He expresses the Love of God to us. God's Spirit spoke his word to those that wrote the Bible, so when we read the Bible it speaks the words of God's Spirit to our spirit.

Am I telling you the truth? Is this, the Holy Bible that I am holding up, the word of God? Is it true? Will you believe what it says? The Bible tells us in...

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It also tells us in

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

There are many more scriptures telling us God loves us, so if you have had any thoughts about God doesn't love you, don't believe the lie! The Bible tells us the truth. This is the word of God, it does not lie!

Lie # 2: I don't have enough faith.

Some people think they don't have enough faith to be healed, but the Bible tells us if we have just a small amount of faith we can move mountains!

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, "If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

You just heard the Spirit of God through his word, so let it speak to your spirit. If you will hear the word in your spirit, your faith will be built up. As my mother once said, "You don't have to have faith in your faith. Just have faith in God."

So don't think you don't have enough faith. We all have a measure of faith and it comes from God.

So don't believe the lie from Satan saying you do have faith! The word which does not lie just told you. You do have faith! Can you hear the Spirit?

The Bible, the word of God, makes it clear that he wants us to be healed.

I was talking to Randy Parker this past week about healing and Randy said, "Jesus has already done his part." I began to think about what Randy said, and yes, I believe Randy was right. Jesus has already done his part. The Spirit of God through his word tells us, "By his stripes we were healed." It's up to us to receive his healing.

1 Peter 2:24 Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Isaiah 53:5 - But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The Communion Jesus taught us to take, the wine and the bread, is a constant reminder of the Salvation and healing Jesus provide for us. His blood washed us from our sins and his body was broken for us, not only on the cross, but when the stripes were being applied healing was coming forth, so when we take the bread of the communion it's a reminder how it is his will to heal us. It's very evident in the bible Jesus wants us healed! Let your spirit hear this today!

Matthew 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."

Do you hear what the Spirit is saying to us right now? He's saying his body was broken for you! Listen to the Spirit of God. Let him speak to your spirit right now!

The Bible tells us that God is a Spirit.

John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

The Bible tells us we have a spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

So you see here, that God is a Spirit, and we have a spirit. God's Spirit speaks to our Spirit. We have to hear the word in our spirit, not just with our natural ears, and not just with our natural minds, but deep down inside where our Spirit is. We have to open up our spirit to his spirit, and just simply believe his word to us.

His Spirit is in this place, in this Church, right how. God established this Church, this leadership, and this whole body of believers.

Do you believe Jesus is here? His Spirit is telling you he is here. Listen, have spiritual ears to hear. He's speaking to you today.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

He is here today to meet all of our needs, including healing, if we will just open our spirits to his spirit and hear what he is saying through his word.

He does love you.

You do have faith.

Jesus does want you healed.

Hear what his Spirit is saying to your spirit.
