Dark
Invader is launching his sinister plot to get Duke and Teah to eat candy
before dinner in order to draw them from the Bright Side to the Dark side.
In doing so, he would secure for himself a "Heart's Eye," which would allow
him to conquer the universe. It's Master Yodeler's and
O-he-won-the-spelling-bee's task to train their young apprentices to
overcome these temptations and defeat Dark Invader and his minions, the
Joneses. The four-part skit deals with the themes of being different
as Christians, sin, forgiveness, and witnessing.
Episode 1: Attack of
Joneses (being "peculiar people," how Christians are different)
Sample Bible Memory Verse: 1 Peter 1:16 for it is written: "Be holy,
because I am holy."
Episode 2: Revenge of
the Sin (sin)
Sample Bible Memory Verse:
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he
sows.
Romans 6:23 For the wages
of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
Episode 3: The
Tootsie-Roll Strikes Back (forgiveness)
Sample Bible Memory Verse: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Episode 4: Return of the Heart's Eye
(witnessing, having a heart for the lost)
Sample Bible Memory Verse: Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit |

These skits are designed to
be read by a narrator. In most speaking parts, the narrator would typically
read the line, and then the actor would repeat that line as he or she acts
the part. All action is spontaneously acted as the narrator reads. These
skits can be rehearsed ahead of time or done on the fly. You should feel
free to add props and costumes as you see fit, as any addition would enhance
the overall experience of the skits. However, it isn’t necessary to add
props or costumes.

Sample Scene:
Meanwhile, Duke and Teah were just arriving at the Hoverboard playground.
Neither of them was very good at riding hoverboards, so they kept falling.
Like champs, they’d get up and try again, but alas, they would both fall
again. They tried again and this time bumped into each other and fell. Then
they tried and fell backwards. They tried again and fell forward. The next
time they both fell to the right. After that, they both tried again and fell
to the left. They were both pretty bumped and bruised by now so they both
started to cry. When they saw each other cry, they pointed at the other and
started laughing really obnoxiously because the other one was crying. This
hurt their feelings though, and both started crying again.
It was about this time that Joneses arrived and slinked onto the Hoverboard
Playground. Seeing the two children sitting on the ground and crying, they
knew that it was the perfect time to unfold their dastardly plan. Walking up
to the children, they each reached deeply into the other’s pockets, pulled
out huge handfuls of candy, and said, “Here have some candy. It will make
you feel better.” But they became confused as they began arguing with each
other because the other Jones was trying to give away their candy. “Hey,
that’s my candy.” They all said. “Stop copying me. You stop copying me. No
you stop. No you. No you.” Since they were so caught up in arguing among
themselves, they weren’t award that Dark Invader had arrived on the scene to
see how they were progressing.
“Stop this silly fighting!” he yelled. “Can’t you see that these two
children are upset and need some candy to make them feel better?”
“But Master, he took my candy. No she took my candy.” And the Joneses
started arguing again. “Enough!” shouted Dark Invader as he took candy from
the Joneses and offered it to the two children. Duke and Teah reach out to
take the candy, but then pull back as Teah says, “It’s almost dinner time.
We aren’t supposed to have candy before dinner.” Luke replies sadly, “Yeah,
she's right.”
Dark Invader coaxes, “Come on, Come on, Come on, you can take one piece. It
won’t hurt you.”
“Maybe you’re right,” the two children wonder as they reach to take the
candy again.
Just then Yodeler (yodels) and his apprentice burst onto the scene. They
begin fighting against Dark Invader and the Joneses, beating them back from
the children with their giant Life-Savers. As the apprentice takes on the
weaker Joneses, his master, Yodeler (yodels) focuses his fight on Dark
Invader. “I see that you have a new apprentice, Master Yodeler (yodels),
what is his name?”
Yodeler (yodels) replies, “O-he-won-the spelling-bee.”
“That’s nice, but what is his name?”
“O-he-won-the-spelling-bee.”
“Congratulations, but what is his name?”
“O-he-won-the-spelling-bee.”
“I said congratulations, but what is his name?”
“O-he-won-the-spelling-bee.”
Dark Invader stops fighting, folds his arms, and declares, “I said
congratulations. What do you want me to do? Give him a medal? Why won’t you
tell me his name?”
Yodeler (yodels) stops as well and replies, “His name I did tell you.
O-he-won-the spelling-bee His name is.”
“Oooooooooo…” muses Dark Invader. “That’s really his name? Poor guy.”
Yodeler (yodels) starts to fight again and Dark Invader gives the sign for
the Joneses to retreat. As he runs behind them, he stops and turns and
promises… “We shall meet again!” He then throws up his cape and runs away.
“Much interest in these two Dark Invader has. Take them on to protect and
train you should, O-he-won-the spelling-bee.”
“Yes, my master,” replies O-he-won-the spelling-bee.
“Thank you sirs, for saving us,” the two children say.
“Welcome you are,” replies Yodeler as he leaves to cook dinner (yodels as he
leaves.)
